I know, I know, another green smoothie and you’re probably convinced your little won’t touch it with a ten foot pole. I promise you though, if your little can get past the bright green color of this Hulk Helper Smoothie, they will be hooked.

We have been drinking this smoothie often lately on busy school mornings and my kids and even husband are fans. I think its because its the perfect balance of dark leafy greens, superfoods and lots of frozen fruit sweetness to balance it all out.

HULK HELPER’S NUTRITIONAL BENEFITS

But even better than the taste, it is so packed with nutritional benefits! So much so that I was even going to add the word “detox” to its name because its also a heavy metal chelator too.

That’s because one of the main igredients, spirulina, is a powerful heavy metal detoxifier. If you’ve never heard of spirulina, it is a dark blue-green microalgea (mostly found and harvested around the world but especially in Hawaii) that just so happens to be one of the most powerful superfoods in the world!

Other than its ability to help pull out heavy metals like arsenic from the body, it is also a powerful cancer preventative and has been known to contribute to good gut health and combat bacteria dysbiosis in the gut.

It’s also high in omega 3 fatty acids, vitamin A, vitamin K, vitamin B and lots of other vitamins and minerals.

But back to the taste, we love it becaue of its nutrition but my kids wouldn’t touch it if it didnt taste amazing! It’s so good that I think anyone would love it.

Here’s how to make it.

INGREDIENTS:

  • 1-2 tsp of organic hawaiian spirulina

  • 2 large handfuls of spinach

  • 1 banana

  • 1 + 1/2 cup frozen mango

  • 1 cup papaya (frozen is better)

  • juice of 1 lemon

  • 1 cup of either orange juice or coconut water

  • add ice if needed

INSTRUCTIONS:

  1. Place all the ingredients in a high speed blender. Add enough liquid to cover 3/4 of the ingredients (somewhere around 1 cup) and blend on high until smoothie.

  2. Kid green smoothie tip: Kids typically are much more willing to enjoy green smoothies that are super cold. So if you need to add a little more ice to the mix, do it!

Made with love,

-Ashley
